Radiator, Engine Cooling: Installation: 6.2L
- Install the radiator from the bottom of the vehicle.NOTE:
Use extreme care when removing and installing the radiator to not damage the fins with the tight clearance area.
- Install the lower radiator support bracket (2) onto the radiator.
- Install the four lower radiator support to frame rail mounting bolts (1) and tighten to the proper torque specifications. Refer to TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS .
- Install the lower radiator closeout panels using NEW
push in fasteners.
- Remove the tie straps securing the LTR system tubes and install the push pins (1) securing the LTR system tubes to the lower radiator support.
- Remove the support used to secure the cooling fan out of the way.
- Install the four A/C condenser and the LTR cooler to the radiator mounting bolts (2) and tighten to the proper torque specifications. Refer to TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS .
- Install the radiator closeout panels.
- Install the wire harness connector (3) to the ambient temperature sensor (2).
- Install the lower radiator hose and secure the clamp.NOTE:
Make sure that the hose is fully seated on the radiator port and that the clamp in not resting on the port bead.
- Install the upper radiator hose and secure the clamp. Install a NEW
torque limiting clamp.NOTE:
Make sure that the hose is fully seated on the radiator port and that the clamp in not resting on the port bead.
- Install the push pin (1) securing the coolant tubes to the PDC mounting bracket.
- Fill the cooling system with coolant. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
- Verify there is no coolant leak.
- Install the front fascia. Refer to FASCIA, FRONT, INSTALLATION .
- Install the belly pan. Refer to BELLY PAN, INSTALLATION .
- Install both front tire and wheel assemblies. Refer to INSTALLATION .
- Remove the support and lower the vehicle.
- Insert the fan assembly (1) into the lower fan shroud retainers (2).
- Install the cooling fan assembly to radiator mounting bolts (1) and tighten to the proper torque specifications. Refer to TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS .
- Rotate the air inlet assembly back into place and install the air cleaner housing cover retaining screws (3)
- Tighten the air inlet clamp (1).
- Install the wire harness connector (1) to the cooling fan.
- Install the ABS module cover.
- Install the two push pin connectors that retain the battery cable and hold the ABS module cover down.
- Connect the negative battery cable. If equipped with an Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS), connect the IBS connector.
- Operate the engine until it reaches normal operating temperature. Check the cooling system and automatic transmission for the correct fluid levels.
