Arm, Lower Control: Installation
- Position lower control arm into pivot brackets on suspension cross-member.
- Install front horizontal mounting bolt (1) and rear vertical mounting bolt (2) and nut attaching lower control arm to cross-member. Do not tighten bolts at this time.
- Install the lower control arm to the ball joint (1).
- Install a NEW
nut (3) attaching lower control arm to ball joint by holding rod end stud stationary while tightening nut with a wrench. Using a crowfoot wrench on a torque wrench, tighten the nut to 168 Nm (124 ft. lbs.).
- Install stabilizer link stud through lower control arm and tighten nut (2) to 63 Nm (46 ft. lbs.)
- Lower vehicle on the hoist, place a floor jack under the control arm. Raise the jack to ride height.
- Tighten front horizontal bolt (1) to 356 Nm (263 ft. lbs.) and rear vertical bolt to 356 N-m (263 ft. lbs.)
- Raise vehicle on hoist.
- Install tire and wheel assembly and tighten bolts to 198 N-m (146 ft. lbs.)
- Lower vehicle.
- Perform wheel alignment. Refer to WHEEL ALIGNMENT .
