Catalyst, Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR): Installation

  1. Clean all gasket sealing surfaces.
  2. Install new Selective Catalytic Reduction Catalyst (SCR) flange gasket.
  3. Position the SCR (2) onto flange and install flange nuts (1) finger tighten.

  4. Install the rear isolator (2) onto the SCR hanger rods.

  5. Install the front isolator (2) onto the SCR hanger rods.

  6. Tighten the SCR flange nuts (1) to 25 N.m (18 ft. lbs.).
  7. Install the muffler assembly. Refer to MUFFLER, EXHAUST, INSTALLATION .
  8. Check the exhaust system for contact with the body panels. A minimum of 25 mm (1.0 in.) is required between the exhaust system components and body/frame parts. Make the necessary adjustments, if needed.
  9. Install the Particulate Matter (PM) sensor. Refer to SENSOR, PARTICULATE MATTER, INSTALLATION .
  10. Install the NOx sensor 1/2, refer to the appropriate installation service information.

  11. Connect the exhaust temperature sensor T4 wire harness connector (1).

  12. Attach the exhaust temperature sensor wire harness (2) to heat shield retainers (1).

  13. Attach connector (2) to bracket and connect the exhaust temperature sensor T3 wire harness connector (1).

  14. Connect the DEF fluid supply line (1) quick connect fitting.
  15. Connect the DEF injector wire harness connector (2).
  16. remove support and lower the vehicle.
  17. Connect the negative battery cable.
  18. Using a scan tool, perform RESET REGENERATIVE FILTER TIMERS function found under ENGINE MISC. FUNCTIONS.
