Hydraulic Power Steering
- Align the power steering pump (1) with mounting holes on engine.
- Install the three power steering pump bolts (2). Tighten bolts to the proper torque specifications. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .NOTE:
Always use a NEW O-ring on the end of the pressure hose.
- Lubricate NEW O-ring on end of pressure hose with clean power steering fluid.
- Install pressure hose (2) to power steering pump (3). Tighten pressure hose tube nut to the proper torque specifications. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
- Install the power steering pump return hose (1) and securely tighten the clamp.
- Install serpentine drive belt. Refer to BELT, SERPENTINE, INSTALLATION .
- Install the air cleaner housing. Refer to appropriate service information.
- Connect the negative battery cable. If equipped with an Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS), connect the IBS connector.
- Fill and bleed power steering system. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
