Sending Unit And Sensor, Fuel Level: Removal

  1. Remove fuel pump module. Refer to MODULE, FUEL PUMP, REMOVAL .

  2. Push down on the tab (3) and slide fuel level sensor (1) down and off of the channel on the housing of the pump module.
  3. Remove the fuel level sensor wires from the retaining tab (2) on the housing.

  4. Disconnect fuel pump/level sensor connector (1).

  5. Pull out the locking wedge.

    1 - LOCKING FINGER
    2 - WIRE TERMINAL
  6. Using a small screwdriver lift locking finger (1) away from terminal (2) and push terminal out of connector. Remove the fuel level sensor signal and ground terminals out of the connector.
