Rail, Fuel: Installation
- Install the fuel injectors to fuel rail.
- Apply a light coating of clean engine oil to the O-ring on the nozzle end of each injectors.
- Insert fuel injector nozzles into openings in the cylinder heads. Seat the injectors in place. Install the fuel rail bolts and hand tighten.
- Tighten fuel rail bolts starting with the center bolts. Torque to 10 N.m (90 in. lbs.).
- Install the intake manifold. Refer to MANIFOLD, INTAKE, INSTALLATION .
- Connect the electrical connector to each of the fuel injectors.CAUTION:
Failure to follow procedure will result in fuel leaks and/or fuel system failure.
- Connect the fuel line quick connector to fuel rail assembly.
- Connect the electrical connectors (2) to the throttle bodies.
- Install the electrical connector harness attachment clips (1) to the throttle bodies.
- Connect vacuum hose (2) to intake manifold nipple (1) and position the hose clamp (3) back into proper position.
- Connect the electrical connector (3) to MAP sensor (2).
- Install the air cleaner assembly. Refer to BODY, AIR CLEANER, INSTALLATION .
- Connect the battery negative cable (4).
- Use the scan tool ASD Fuel System Test to pressurize the fuel system. Check for leaks.
