Steering System: Pump: Installation: Police

If Electro Hydraulic Power Steering (EHPS) front bracket (2) has been removed, install the bracket to the vehicle and tighten fasteners to the proper specification. Refer to SPECIFICATIONS .
Install EHPS pump (1) into vehicle and install EHPS front bracket to pump nut (4) and tighten to the proper specification. Refer to SPECIFICATIONS .

Install EHPS rear bracket (1) to frame bolts (2) and tighten to the proper specification. Refer to SPECIFICATIONS .

NOTE:
Always use a new O-ring on the end of the pressure line.
Lubricate the new O-ring on the end of the pressure line with clean power steering fluid.
Install power steering pressure line to EHPS Pump (3).
Install the EHPS pressure line to pump bolt (2) and tighten to the proper specification. Refer to SPECIFICATIONS .
Install EHPS pump electrical connectors (1).
Fill and bleed power steering system. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
Install right front wheelhouse splash shield. Refer to SHIELD, SPLASH, FRONT WHEELHOUSE, INSTALLATION .
Install the right front tire and wheel assembly. Refer to INSTALLATION .
Remove the support and lower the vehicle.
Connect the negative battery cable. If equipped with an Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS), connect the IBS connector.
