SYMPTOM/CONDITION
Customers may experience a Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) illumination. Upon further investigation the technician may find the following Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) have been set:
- P2066 - Fuel Level Sensor 2 Performance (with 3.6L V6 24V VVT Engine (Sales Code ERB) with Police Group (Sales Code AHB) or Special Service Group (Sales Code AHV)).
- P0335 - Crankshaft Position Sensor Circuit.
- P0456 - EVAP System Small Leak.
- P2610 - PCM Internal Engine Off Timer Performance.
In addition to the above DTCs, this software release also includes:
- **Customers with a Pursuit Dodge Charger (LD) may describe an unpleasant odor in the vehicle under certain extreme ambient conditions (with 3.6L V6 24V VVT Engine (Sales Code ERB) with Police Group (Sales Code AHB) or Special Service Group (Sales Code AHV)).**
- Enhancements to the disable misfire monitor when P0335 is present.
- Add a global disable to small leak monitor when the fuel level is above 88%.
- Update small leak diagnostic to require five minutes of engine run-time and 120 minutes of engine off-time.
- Updates to prevent false failure due to wrong ambient temperature reading.
DIAGNOSIS
Using a Scan Tool (wiTECH) with the appropriate Diagnostic Procedures available in DealerCONNECT/Service Library, verify all related systems are functioning as designed. If DTCs other than the ones listed above are present, record them on the repair order and repair as necessary before proceeding further with this bulletin.
Customers that describe the symptom/condition, or if the technician finds any of the DTCs listed above perform the Repair Procedure.
REPAIR PROCEDURE
- Reprogram the PCM with the latest software. Detailed instructions for flashing control modules using the wiTECH Diagnostic Application are available by selecting the application's "HELP" tab.
- Clear any DTCs that may have been set in any modules due to reprogramming. The wiTECH application will automatically present all DTCs after the flash and allow them to be cleared.
- Verify the Transmission Control Module (TCM) is programmed with the latest available software. Refer to all applicable published service bulletins for detailed repair procedures and labor times regarding updating the TCM software.
POLICY
Reimbursable within the provisions of the warranty.
