Theory Of Operation

The Left Steering Wheel Control Switch is used to control the Electronic Vehicle Information Center (EVIC) in the Cluster. The switch is hardwired to the Right Steering Wheel Control Switch (Speed Control Switch). The Right Steering Wheel Control Switch (Speed Control Switch) transmits Left Steering Wheel Control Switch information to the Steering Angle Sensor (SAS) (integral to the Steering Column Control Module) via the LIN Bus. The SAS then converts this data to a CAN Bus signal and broadcasts the message to the corresponding module on the bus.
