Rail, Fuel: Installation: Installation

  1. Install the fuel injectors to fuel rail.
  2. Apply a light coating of clean engine oil to the O-ring on the nozzle end of each injectors.
  3. Insert fuel injector nozzles into openings in the cylinder heads. Seat the injectors in place. Install the fuel rail bolts and hand tighten.
  4. Tighten fuel rail bolts starting with the center bolts. Torque to 10 N.m (90 in. lbs.).

  5. Install the intake manifold. Refer to MANIFOLD, INTAKE, INSTALLATION .
  6. Connect the electrical connector to each of the fuel injectors.

    CAUTION:

    Failure to follow procedure will result in fuel leaks and/or fuel system failure.

  7. Connect the fuel line quick connector to fuel rail assembly.

  8. Connect the electrical connectors (2) to the throttle bodies.
  9. Install the electrical connector harness attachment clips (1) to the throttle bodies.

  10. Connect vacuum hose (2) to intake manifold nipple (1) and position the hose clamp (3) back into proper position.

  11. Connect the electrical connector (3) to MAP sensor (2).

  12. Install the air cleaner assembly. Refer to BODY, AIR CLEANER, INSTALLATION .
  13. Connect the battery negative cable (4).
  14. Use the scan tool ASD Fuel System Test to pressurize the fuel system. Check for leaks.
