The Exhaust Differential Pressure Sensor (2) is remotely mounted on the transmission housing. One pressure tube (3) measures back-pressure created by the valves located at the cold end of the exhaust system. The sensor monitors the pressure in the exhaust system and determines if the valves are working properly for engine performance.

The valve (1) is located in the cold end of the exhaust pipe, are spring loaded and control the back pressure for optimal engine performance. When the engine is in full performance mode. The valves will open to full when the conditions require it. When the engine is in economy mode. The valve will slightly close. When the engine is at idle. The valve will close completely to control the noise created by the engine.
