Sensor, Knock: Installation: 4.0L

  1. Position sensor (3) to engine. Install and tighten mounting bolt to 10 N.M (7 ft. lbs.). Note foam strip on bolt threads. This foam is used only to retain the bolt to sensor for plant assembly. It is not used as a sealant. Do not apply any adhesive, sealant or thread locking compound to this bolt.

  2. Install lower intake manifold (3) and fuel rail (1). Refer to LOWER INTAKE MANIFOLD .

  3. Install the upper intake manifold, EGR tube, PCV, Purge and power brake booster vacuum hoses. Refer to MANIFOLD, INTAKE, INSTALLATION .
  4. Fill the coolant system. Refer to COOLING SYSTEM FILLING - GAS ENGINE .
  5. Connect the negative battery cable. Tighten nut to 4.5 N.M (40 in. lbs.).
