Fig 1: Water Pump, New Gasket & Cylinder Head

Position the water pump (3) with a new gasket (2) onto the cylinder head (1). Tighten the bolts (4) to 28 N.m (21 ft. lbs.).

Install the timing belt (3).
Evacuate air and refill cooling system. Refer to PUMP, WATER, STANDARD PROCEDURE .
Connect the negative battery cable.
Check cooling system for leaks. Refer to DIAGNOSIS AND TESTING .
