2.0L Diesel Engine

  1. Using a lint free towel, wipe clean the open power steering pressure hose end and the power steering pump port. Replace any used O-rings with new. Lubricate the O-ring with clean power steering fluid.
  2. Place the pump in mounting position. Install the rear mounting bolt (2) but do not tighten to specification.

  3. Install the two mounting bolts (1) through the pulley (2) openings. Tighten the front and rear mounting bolts to 30 N.m (22 ft. lbs.).

  4. Install the supply hose (2) at the pump (1) and secure the hose clamp.
  5. Install pressure line tube nut (3) to the pump (1) and tighten to 32 N.m (24 ft. lbs.).

  6. Install the A/C compressor. Refer to COMPRESSOR, A/C, INSTALLATION .
  7. Install the charge air cooler tube (5) and connect to the cooler (2).
  8. Install the charge air cooler tube to the turbocharger flange (7). Tighten the bolts to 10 N.m (89 in. lbs.).
  9. Install the support bolt (4) and tighten to 10 N.m (89 in. lbs.).
  10. Tighten the clamp (3) to secure the charge air cooler tube to the cooler (2).

    CAUTION:

    Do not let the tensioner arm snap back to the freearm position, severe damage may occur to the tensioner.

    NOTE:

    When installing accessory drive belt, be sure belt is routed around all accessories correctly.

  11. Install belt over all pulleys.
  12. Using a wrench, rotate the cam tensioner (5) until the locking pin can be removed from the tensioner (8).
  13. Check the belt for proper alignment.

  14. Install the lower belt splash shield (2).

  15. Install the inner fender splash shield (1).

  16. Install lower engine bellypan.
  17. Install front lower fascia closeout.
  18. Install the right front wheel.
  19. Lower vehicle.

  20. Install the pressure hose routing bracket bolts (1, 4) and tighten to 24 N.m (18 ft. lbs.).
  21. Install the coolant hose (3), if removed.
  22. Fill and bleed the power steering system. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
  23. Charge refrigerant system. Refer to PLUMBING, FRONT, STANDARD PROCEDURE .
  24. Check for leaks.
  25. Install the engine appearance cover.
  26. Connect negative battery cable.
