Diagnostic Test

PROGRAMMING MILEAGE INTO THE PCM
1. Ignition on, engine not running.
2. With the scan tool, erase DTCs.
3. Using a scan tool, program the mileage into the PCM.
4. Start the engine.
5. Allow the engine to reach normal operating temperature.
6. With the scan tool, select View DTCs.
  Does the DTC reset?
  
  Yes
  - Replace and program the Powertrain Control Module in accordance with the Service Information. Refer to MODULE, POWERTRAIN CONTROL, REMOVAL , and PCM/ECM REPROGRAMMING - GAS and follow the PCM/ECM PROGRAMMING procedure .
  - Perform the POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST .
  No
  - The mileage has been successfully programmed into the PCM. Test is complete.
  - Perform the POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST .
