Battery System: Description: 300V

The 300 Volt high voltage battery pack:

• stores electrical energy for use by the Hybrid Electric Vehicle (HEV) system and system components
• weighs 70 kg (150 lbs)
• has a nominal voltage of 288 Volts
• is packaged under the second row seats

The high voltage battery pack case, includes the following components on the external portion:

• A high voltage service disconnect
• A high voltage terminal lugs
• A battery gas vent tube
• A battery cooling intake grate
• A battery cooling exhaust duct
• A low voltage connector

The high voltage battery pack includes the following components:

• A Battery Pack Control Module (BPCM)
• contactors (similar to relays):
  1. pre-charge
  2. positive
  3. negative
• 40 - 7.2-volt battery modules
• six temperature sensors
• A current sensor
• A cooling fan
