Fuel Injectors: Removal
- Release fuel system pressure. Refer to FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE RELEASE PROCEDURE .
- Remove the battery cover and disconnect negative battery cable.
- Remove the air cleaner assembly, refer to AIR CLEANER HOUSING .
- Disconnect the electrical connector to the MAP sensor and Coolant Temperature sensor. See Fig 1.

1 - Fuel Rail 2 - MAP Sensor 3 - Coolant Temperature Sensor 4 - Fuel Injector - Disconnect the electrical connector to the TPS and Idle Air Control. See Fig 2.
1 - Throttle Position Sensor 2 - Idle Air Control Motor 3 - Fuel Rail 4 - Connector Fuel Line for Fuel Rails - Remove the wiring harness from the wiring clips under thew throttle body. See Fig 3.
- Disconnect the electrical connector from the fuel injectors. See Fig 4.
- Disconnect the fuel line quick connector. See Fig 5.
- Remove the bolts for the fuel rail. See Fig 6.
- Pull fuel rail and injectors straight up and out of the intake manifold.
- Move the fuel rail forward and out from under the intake manifold and throttle body. See Fig 7.
- Remove the fuel injector from the fuel rail. See Fig 8.
