Charging System: Generator: Installation

  1. Install generator.
  2. Install the lower mounting bolt and nut. See Figure.
  3. Install the upper mounting bolt. See Figure.
  4. Tighten the bolts to 55 N.m (41 ft. lbs).
  5. Connect the battery positive cable to the generator, and install the B+ stud cap. See Figure.
  6. Connect the field connector. See Figure.
  7. Install the accessory drive belt, refer to COOLING for more information. See Figure.
  8. Install air cleaner assembly, refer to the AIR CLEANER HOUSING for more information.
  9. Connect the negative battery cable, tighten the nut to 14.2 N.m (125 in. lbs.).
