Fuel Tank Differential Pressure Sensor

NOTE: For fuel tank differential pressure sensor circuit testing, see DTC P0450: EVAP SYSTEM PRESSURE SENSOR MALFUNCTION or P0451: EVAP SYSTEM PRESSURE SENSOR RANGE/PERFORMANCE under DIAGNOSTIC TESTS in appropriate SELF-DIAGNOSTICS article. Manufacturer recommends connecting Test Connector (MB991348) to fuel tank differential pressure sensor during testing procedure.

Turn ignition off. Support fuel tank. Remove fuel tank band assembly. Tilt fuel tank and disconnect Fuel Tank Differential Pressure (FTDP) sensor 3-pin connector. Using Test Connector (MB991348) or jumper wires, connect all terminals on harness side of FTDP connector to respective terminals on sensor side of FTDP connector. Turn ignition on. Using DVOM, backprobe and measure voltage between FTDP sensor connector terminals No. 2 (Black wire) and No. 3 (Green/Yellow wire). See Fig 1 . Voltage should be 2-3 volts. If voltage is not 2-3 volts, replace FTDP sensor.
