Windshield Wiper/Washer System
Windshield wiper switch sends input signals to the Front ECU in low, high or mist position. The Front ECU will activate the wiper speed switching relay On (high speed, mist) or Off (low speed).
When windshield wiper switch is in the intermittent position, input voltage signal is sent to the Electronic Timer Alarm Control System Electronic Control Unit (ETACS ECU). ETACS ECU will calculate the voltage signal from the wiper switch and send signals to the Front ECU. The Front ECU will then turn on the wiper signal relay. This relay will turn on the wiper auto stop relay. The wiper auto stop relay will turn off when wipers reach Park position. Front ECU will then turn the wiper signal relay on again at the specified interval.
When windshield washer is requested, windshield washer switch sends input signals to the Front ECU to turn wipers on along with washer pump. Wiper signal will continue to be sent by Front ECU for 3 seconds after washer switch is released.
