Test No. 12: Trunk Lid Latch Switch Signal Is Not Sent To ETACS ECU
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect trunk lid latch switch connector. Test trunk lid latch switch by checking for continuity between trunk lid latch switch terminals. See Fig 1
. With trunk lid latch locked, continuity should not be indicated. With trunk lid latch unlocked, continuity should be indicated. If trunk lid latch switch tests as specified, go to next step. If trunk lid latch switch does not test as specified, replace trunk lid latch. Recheck trunk lid latch switch input signal.
- Using DVOM, measure resistance between trunk lid latch switch connector terminal No. 2 (Black wire) and ground. See Fig 1
. If resistance is greater than 2 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is 2 ohms or less, go to step 5
.
- Check for poor connections at trunk lid latch switch connector terminals. If poor connections are found, repair as necessary. Recheck trunk lid latch switch input signal. If terminals are okay, go to next step.
- Check for faulty Black wire between trunk lid latch switch connector terminal No. 2 and ground. If faulty circuit is found, repair as necessary. Recheck trunk lid latch switch input signal. If circuit is okay, system is okay at this time.
- Check for poor connections at ETACS ECU connector C312 and trunk lid latch switch connector terminals. See Figure
. If poor connections are found, repair as necessary. Recheck trunk lid latch switch input signal. If terminals are okay, go to next step.
- Check for faulty Red wire between trunk lid latch switch connector terminal No. 1 and ETACS ECU connector C312 terminal No. 27. See Figure
. If faulty circuit is found, repair as necessary. Recheck trunk lid latch switch input signal. If circuit is okay, replace ETACS ECU.
