DTC 13: Front Ecu Fault: Testing
- Check ignition switch position. If DTC 13 does not set with ignition switch in ON position, go to next step. If DTC 12 sets with ignition switch in ON position, go to step 5
.
- Remove Front ECU from relay box. See Figure
. Using DVOM, measure voltage between ground and Front ECU connector terminal No. 16. See Fig 1
. If battery voltage is not indicated, go to next step. If battery voltage is indicated, replace Front ECU.
- Check for poor connections at Front ECU connector terminals. If poor connections are found, repair as necessary. Recheck for DTCs. If connections are okay, go to next step.
- Check for faulty Orange/Black wire between Front ECU connector terminal No. 16 and fuse No. 4 (10-amp) located in underhood fuse/relay box. See Figure
. If faulty circuit is found, repair as necessary. Recheck for DTCs. If circuit is okay, system is okay at this time.
- Remove Front ECU from relay box. See Figure
. Using DVOM, measure resistance between ground and Front ECU connector terminal No. 1. See Fig 1
. If resistance is greater than 2 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is 2 ohms or less, go to step 8
.
- Check for poor connections at Front ECU connector terminals. If poor connections are found, repair as necessary. Recheck for DTCs. If connections are okay, go to next step.
- Check for open in Black wire between Front ECU connector terminal No. 1 and ground. If faulty circuit is found, repair as necessary. Recheck for DTCs. If circuit is okay, system is okay at this time.
- Check for poor connections at Front ECU and ETACS ECU connector terminals. See Figure
. If poor connections are found, repair as necessary. Recheck for DTCs. If connections are okay, go to next step.
- Check for faulty Blue/White wire between Front ECU connector terminal No. 17 and ETACS ECU connector C313 terminal No. 42. See Figure
. If faulty circuit is found, repair as necessary. Recheck for DTCs. If circuit is okay, go to next step.
- Replace Front ECU. Recheck for DTCs. If DTC 13 resets, replace ETACS ECU. If DTC 13 does not reset, repair is complete.
