High Beam Headlights Will Not Turn On
- Disconnect Gray 20-pin multifunction switch connector. See Figure . Turn headlights on. Using DVOM, measure resistance between ground and Gray 20-pin multifunction switch connector terminal No. 8 (Red/Orange wire). See Figure . If resistance is more than 5 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is 5 ohms or less, repair short to ground in Red/Orange wire between Gray 20-pin multifunction switch connector terminal No. 8 and Gray 26-pin CTM connector C1 terminal No. 24.
- Connect fused jumper wire between Gray 20-pin multifunction switch connector terminals No. 8 (Red/Orange wire) and No. 9 (Light Green/Orange wire). If headlights do not turn on, go to next step. If headlights turn on, replace multifunction switch. See MULTIFUNCTION SWITCH under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
- Connect Gray 20-pin multifunction switch connector. Disconnect Central Timer Module (CTM) connectors. CTM is located behind left side kick panel. Connect one end of a fused jumper wire to Gray 26-pin CTM connector C1 terminal No. 24 (Red/Orange wire). Connect other end of fused jumper wire to Gray 12-pin CTM connector C3 terminal No. 2 (Red/Orange wire), then terminal No. 3 (Light Green/Brown wire). If corresponding high beam headlights turn on when using jumper wire, replace CTM. See CENTRAL TIMER MODULE under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. If neither or only one corresponding high beam headlight turns on, repair high beam headlight driver circuit between Gray 12-pin CTM connector C3 and appropriate headlight. See HEADLIGHT SYSTEMS article.
