High Beam Headlights Will Not Turn Off

  1. Ensure headlights are off. Disconnect Gray 20-pin multifunction switch connector. See Figure . Using DVOM connected to ground, measure voltage at Gray 20-pin multifunction switch connector terminal No. 8 (Red/Orange wire). See Fig 1 . If less than one volt exists, go to next step. If one volt or more exists, repair short to voltage in Red/Orange wire between Gray 20-pin multifunction switch connector terminal No. 8 and Central Timer Module (CTM) connector C1 terminal No. 24. See Figure .
  2. Disconnect Gray 26-pin Central Timer Module (CTM) connector C1. CTM is located behind left side kick panel. Using DVOM, measure resistance of Red/Orange wire between Gray 26-pin CTM connector C1 terminal No. 24 and Gray 20-pin multifunction switch connector terminal No. 8. See Figure . If resistance is 5 ohms or less, replace CTM. See CENTRAL TIMER MODULE  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, replace multifunction switch. See MULTIFUNCTION SWITCH  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
