Removal & Installation

The Powertrain Control Module (PCM) is located between passenger's side front fender and air cleaner assembly. See Figure . Turn ignition off. Disconnect negative battery cable. Unsnap cover from PCM. Carefully unplug 3 PCM connectors. Remove 3 PCM mounting bolts. Remove PCM. To install, reverse removal procedure. Tighten PCM mounting bolts to 30-40 INCH lbs. (3-5 N.m). Using scan tool, reprogram PCM with VIN and original vehicle mileage. See POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE  under PROGRAMMING.
