Lumbar Function Inoperative, Other Power Seat Functions Operate

  1. Remove inoperative power seat switch. See POWER SEAT SWITCH  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Using DVOM connected to ground, measure voltage at power seat switch connector terminal "H" (Gray/Red wire on driver's seat switch; Black/Pink wire on passenger's seat switch). See Fig 1 . If battery voltage exists, go to next step. If battery voltage does not exist, repair open in appropriate circuit between power seat switch connector and fuse No. 14 in Power Distribution Center (PDC). PDC is located in engine compartment, near air cleaner. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  .
  2. Using DVOM, check for continuity between ground and power seat switch connector terminal "G" (Black wire). If continuity exists, go to next step. If continuity does not exist, repair open ground circuit. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  .
  3. Test power seat switch. See POWER SEAT SWITCH  under COMPONENT TESTS. If switch is okay, check for open or short circuit in wiring harness between power seat switch and inoperative power lumbar adjuster motor. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . Repair circuits as necessary. If circuits are okay, power lumbar adjuster motor is inoperative. Information is not available from manufacturer.
