Description & Operation
A reversible permanent magnet motor moves each window regulator through an integral gearbox mechanism. Master (driver's) power window switch, is located on driver's door and controls all windows. A window lock-out switch located in master power window switch can prevent operation of passenger windows by their individual switches. When window lock-out switch is in Lock position, battery feed for all passenger window switches is interrupted. Each passenger door has its own power window switch that receives its power and ground feeds through the circuitry of the driver's power window switch. Driver's power window switch has an auto-down feature. Driver's window can be completely lowered using auto-down feature by pressing driver's power window switch down past first detent and releasing.
Power is supplied from a circuit breaker in the instrument panel junction block when ignition is on. A positive and negative battery connection to either of the 2 motor terminals will cause the motor to rotate in one direction. Reversing current through these same 2 connections will cause the motor to rotate in the opposite direction.
