Any Hard-Wired Cluster Indicator Inoperative

NOTE: To determine if the signal for the indicator in question is hard-wired to the instrument cluster or transmitted on the PCI BUS, see ANALOG INSTRUMENT PANELS - DAKOTA & DURANGO article. Certain indicators are LED and are not serviceable. If an LED is found to be inoperative, instrument cluster must be replaced.
  1. Remove instrument cluster. See INSTRUMENT CLUSTER  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Remove and inspect inoperative indicator bulb and bulb holder. Replace as necessary. If indicator bulb and holder are okay, go to next step.
  2. Check for loss of power or ground at appropriate instrument cluster connector terminal relating to inoperative indicator. See ANALOG INSTRUMENT PANELS - DAKOTA & DURANGO article. Repair as necessary.
