Front Wheel Speed Sensor: Installation

CAUTION: Failure to install speed sensors properly may result in contact with moving parts or an over extension of wires causing an open circuit. Be sure that sensor harnesses are installed, routed, and clipped properly.
  1. Install wheel speed sensor head in steering knuckle. See Figure . Install mounting bolt. Tighten mounting bolt to a torque of 11 N m (100 INCH lbs.). Install speed sensor harness grommet into metal retaining bracket attached to brake hose. Route sensor harness along brake hose and install it in routing clips.
  2. Push sensor connector fastener clip into OPERATION hole in frame rail. Connect vehicle wiring harness to sensor connector. Install tire and wheel assembly. Progressively tighten wheel mounting nuts in proper sequence to 122 N.m (90 ft. lbs.). Lower vehicle. Road test vehicle to ensure proper operation of base brakes and ABS.
