Remote Keyless Entry Systems: Description

Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) system allows for locking and unlocking of the vehicle doors (and Durango liftgate) by remote control, using a hand-held radio transmitter. The transmitter also arms and disarms the anti-theft system (if equipped), and turns on courtesy lights for 30 seconds. The receiver (module) may receive signals from up to 4 transmitters. All models use a high-line Central Timer Module (CTM). If a transmitter is replaced, or another added, the code from all units must be programmed into CTM memory. The receiver is capable of retaining memory even when power is removed. The transmitter will operate within approximately 30 feet of the receiver. The transmitter has 2 replaceable 3-volt batteries (2016 or equivalent).

If programmed, system will lock all doors when vehicle speed is greater than 15 MPH. An accident response feature will unlock all doors after air bag deploys and turn on courtesy lights when vehicle stops moving.
