Power Mirror System
- Check fuse. See MIRROR SYSTEM FUSE IDENTIFICATION table. Repair any short circuits and replace fuse as necessary. Go to next step.
- Check for power at fuse. See MIRROR SYSTEM FUSE IDENTIFICATION table. Repair open circuits as necessary. If power exists, go to next step.
- Disconnect power mirror switch harness connector. Check for voltage at power mirror harness connector terminal. See MIRROR SWITCH POWER SUPPLY IDENTIFICATION table. If battery voltage exists, go to next step. If battery voltage does not exist, repair open in circuit between mirror switch and fuse.
- Disconnect battery cable. Check continuity between ground and power mirror switch harness connector terminal No. 8 (Black wire) Dakota & Durango, No. 8 (Black/Light Green wire) Ram Pickup, or No. 4 (Black wire) Ram Van and Ram Wagon. If continuity exists, go to next step. If continuity does not exist, repair open in Black wire or Black/Light Green wire between mirror switch and ground.
- Check mirror switch. See POWER MIRROR SWITCH under COMPONENT TESTS. If switch is okay, go to next step. If switch is faulty, replace switch.
- Check power mirror motor. See POWER MIRROR MOTOR under COMPONENT TESTS. If motor is faulty, replace mirror. If motor is okay, repair wiring between switch and motor as necessary.
