Oil Pump: Inspection
WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
- Inspect components for damage. Using feeler gauge and straightedge, check pump cover flatness. Measure thickness of inner and outer rotors. Measure outer rotor outside diameter. Replace oil pump assembly if not to specification. See OIL PUMP SPECIFICATIONS table.
- Install outer rotor into pump body. Press outer rotor to one side, and measure clearance between outer rotor and pump body. Replace oil pump assembly if clearance exceeds specification. See OIL PUMP SPECIFICATIONS table.
- With outer rotor installed in pump body, install inner rotor. Measure rotor tip clearance between inner and outer rotors. Replace oil pump assembly if clearance exceeds specification. See OIL PUMP SPECIFICATIONS table.
