Chime Remains On With Ignition On
- Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Disconnect Central Timer Module (CTM) connector C2. See COMPONENT LOCATIONS . Disconnect Mechanical Instrument Cluster (MIC) connectors. Using a DVOM, measure resistance between ground and tone request signal circuit at MIC connector C2 terminal No. 7 (Light Green/Orange wire). If reading is less than 5 ohms, repair short to ground in Light Green/Orange wire. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST . If reading is 5 ohms or more, go to next step.
- Connect Mechanical Instrument Cluster (MIC) connectors. Turn ignition switch to ON position, and wait 10 seconds. Ensure headlight dimmer switch is not set to defeat interior lighting. Ensure all doors are closed and dome or courtesy lighting features are not activated. Ensure that no gauge hi/low warning indicator or other warning light indicator are illuminated. Disconnect MIC connectors. If chime tone stops, replace MIC. If chime tone continues, turn ignition switch to OFF position. Replace CTM. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
