Fluid Cooler: Operation
The power steering fluid cooler is referred to as a fluid-to-air type. That term describes way heat is exchanged. Power steering fluid returning to power steering fluid reservoir from power steering gear passes through power steering fluid cooler. Heat from passing fluid is absorbed by cooler. As incoming air flows across outside of cooler and it's fins, it removes heat, thus lowering temperature of cooler.
