Checking Engine Oil Level

The best time to check engine oil level is after vehicle has sat overnight, or if engine has been running, allow engine to be shut off for at least 5 minutes before checking oil level. Checking oil while vehicle is on level ground will improve accuracy of oil level reading. The dipstick is calibrated for 2 quarts within SAFE zone.
