Starter Motor Relay

Starter relay is an ISO (International Standards Organization) relay located in Power Distribution Center (PDC), positioned in left side of engine compartment. As battery power is applied to relay from ignition switch, battery power is applied to starter motor through relay to starter solenoid. The starter relay ground is provided by PCM. When starter interlock (clutch pedal mounted) switch contacts are closed, PCM will supply ground path for starter relay at key ON. This will occur if engine RPM is below a predetermined value.
