VTSS Test 4A - Horn Circuit Malfunction

NOTE: Perform VTSS TEST 1A  before proceeding with this test. For connector terminal identification, refer to CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION  . For wiring diagrams, refer to WIRING DIAGRAMS  . Perform, after each repair, VERIFICATION TEST VER-1A - BODY VERIFICATION TEST  .
CAUTION: Always turn ignition switch to OFF position prior to disconnecting or connecting any module connector.
  1. Press horn button on steering wheel. If horn does not sound, repair as needed. Using scan tool, select VEHICLE THEFT, then INPUTS/OUTPUTS. Read trunk key cylinder status. If scan tool displays CLOSED, go to next step. If scan tool does not display CLOSED, go to VTSS TEST 3A  .
  2. Disconnect Body Control Module (BCM) from junction block. BCM is mounted to junction block located behind left end cap of instrument panel. See Figure in CHIME TEST 2A. Using external voltmeter, measure voltage between ground and terminal No. 18 (horn relay control) on junction block 20-pin internal connector. If voltage is 10 volts or less, replace junction block. If voltage is greater than 10 volts, replace BCM.
