Keyless Entry System - Remote: Description
Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) system allows locking and unlocking of the vehicle doors and trunk using a hand-held radio transmitter. The transaxle must be in Park before the trunk lid can be unlocked with the transmitter.
The receiver (module) may receive signals from up to 4 transmitters. Each transmitter has its own ID code stored in memory. The ID code of each transmitter never changes. If the transmitter is replaced, or another added, the code from all units has to be programmed into memory. No more than 4 transmitters can be used.
The receiver is capable of retaining memory even when power is removed. The transmitter will operate within approximately 30 feet of the receiver. The transmitter has 2 replaceable 3-volt batteries.
