Windshield Wiper Test 10A - Wipers Operate In High Speed Only
NOTE:
Perform WINDSHIELD WIPER TEST 1A
before proceeding with this test. For connector terminal identification, refer to CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION
. For wiring diagrams, refer to WIRING DIAGRAMS
. Perform, after each repair, VERIFICATION TEST VER-1A - BODY VERIFICATION TEST
.
CAUTION:
Always turn ignition switch to OFF position prior to disconnecting or connecting any module connector.
- Remove HI/LO relay from Power Distribution Center (PDC). See Figure in WINDSHIELD WIPER TEST 2A. PDC is located in engine compartment. See Figure in INSTRUMENT CLUSTER 4B. Using external voltmeter, measure voltage between terminals "B" and "C" on HI/LO relay socket. Turn ignition on. Turn wiper switch to LOW speed position. If voltage is 9 volts or less, replace HI/LO relay. If voltage is greater than 9 volts, go to next step.
- Disconnect Body Control Module (BCM) Bone 12-pin connector C3. BCM is mounted to junction block located behind left end cap of instrument panel. See Figure in CHIME TEST 2A. Do not disconnect voltmeter. If voltage is 9 volts or less, replace BCM. If voltage is greater than 9 volts, repair Violet wire between HI/LO relay and terminal No. 12 on BCM Bone 12-pin connector C3 for short to ground.
