Section 49 (Engine Controls - System/Component Tests - 2.4L): Introduction
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 1996 Plymouth Voyager, 1996 Plymouth Grand Voyager, 1996 Dodge Grand Caravan, and 1996 Dodge Caravan. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
Before testing separate components or systems, perform procedures in the BASIC TESTING - 2.4L article. Since many computer-controlled/monitored components set a diagnostic trouble code if they malfunction, also see the TESTS W/CODES - 2.4L article.
NOTE:
Testing individual components does not isolate short or open circuits. Perform all voltage tests with a Digital Volt-Ohmmeter (DVOM) with a minimum 10-megohm input impedance, unless stated otherwise in test procedure. Use ohmmeter to isolate shorted or open wiring harness.
