Test 14A - No Termination
NOTE:
For connector terminal ID, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION
and WIRING DIAGRAMS
. Perform TEST VER-2A - VERIFICATION PROCEDURE
after each repair.
CAUTION:
Always turn ignition off prior to disconnecting any module connector.
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect Body Control Module (BCM). BCM is connected to junction block, under left side of instrument panel. Disconnect BCM connectors and remove from junction block.
- Using an external ohmmeter, measure resistance between BCM component terminals No. 3 and 34. If resistance is not 100-140 ohms, replace BCM. If resistance is 100-140 ohms, go to next step.
- Connect jumper wire between ground and BCM connector "A", terminal No. 3 (Violet/Brown wire). Using scan tool, select BODY, BODY COMPUTER, then SYSTEM TEST. Perform CCD BUS test. If scan tool does not display BUS SHORT TO GROUND, repair open Violet/Brown wire. If scan tool displays BUS SHORT TO GROUND, go to next step.
- Move jumper wire to BCM connector "A", terminal No. 34 (White/Black wire). Perform CCD BUS test. If scan tool does not display BUS SHORT TO GROUND, repair open White/Black wire. If scan tool displays BUS SHORT TO GROUND, go to next step.
- Disconnect Powertrain Control Module (PCM) connectors. PCM is located next to power distribution center, on left inner fender panel. Using an external ohmmeter, measure resistance between PCM component terminals No. 59 and 60. If resistance is not 100-140 ohms, replace PCM. If resistance is 100-140 ohms, go to next step.
- Connect jumper wire between ground and PCM connector, terminal No. 59 (Violet/Brown wire).
- Move jumper wire to PCM connector, terminal No. 60 (White/Black wire). Perform CCD BUS test. If scan tool does not display BUS SHORT TO GROUND, repair open White/Black wire. If scan tool displays BUS SHORT TO GROUND, replace scan tool cable or scan tool.
