"G" Force Sensor

NOTE: "G" force sensor component test applies to vehicles equipped with All-Wheel Drive (AWD) only.
  1. Remove "G" force sensor. See "G" FORCE SENSOR R & I  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Place sensor on level surface. See Fig 1. Using a DVOM, check continuity across sensor terminals. If continuity exists, go to next step. If continuity does not exist, replace sensor.
  2. Check for continuity across sensor terminals while slowly tilting sensor in direction of forward vehicle travel. No continuity should exist when sensor angle is 30 degrees or more. If no continuity exists, go to next step. If continuity exists, replace sensor.
  3. Check for continuity across sensor terminals while slowly tilting sensor in direction of reverse vehicle travel. No continuity should exist when sensor angle is 30 degrees or more. If continuity exists, replace sensor.
