Starter Solenoid

  1. Remove starter motor. See REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Disconnect field coil wire from field coil terminal. See Fig 1 . Check continuity between solenoid terminal and field coil terminal. If continuity exists, go to next step. If continuity does not exist, replace starter assembly.
  2. Check continuity between solenoid terminal and solenoid housing. If continuity exists, solenoid is okay. If continuity does not exist, replace starter assembly.
