Removal (Except 3.3L & 3.5L)
Remove fuel tank. See FUEL TANK . Using a hammer and brass drift punch, carefully tap fuel pump lock ring counterclockwise. See Figure. Remove lock ring, fuel pump and "O" ring seal from tank. Discard "O" ring and fuel inlet filter.
CAUTION:
To prevent fuel leakage, DO NOT overtighten fuel pump lock ring.
