Coolant Temperature Switch (A/T Models)

  1. Coolant temperature switch is located in cylinder head, below intake manifold, near air temperature switch. See Figure . Coolant temperature switch opens when coolant temperature is less than 60°F (16°C).
  2. When coolant temperature switch opens, transmission will not shift into Overdrive. Transmission will downshift if it is in Overdrive when coolant temperature switch opens.
