Barometric Read Solenoid

Barometric pressure information is used primarily for boost control. The solenoid is mounted in the vacuum line next to the Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAP) sensor. SMEC controls barometric read solenoid.

Atmospheric pressure is supplied to MAP sensor to periodically measure barometric pressure. This occurs once per throttle closure, but not more often than once every 3 minutes within a specified RPM range.
