Manifold Absolute Pressure (Map) Sensor

The MAP sensor is mounted underhood on the right strut tower. The MAP sensor monitors manifold vacuum through a vacuum line from the throttle body to the sensor.

The sensor transmits information on manifold vacuum conditions and barometric pressure to the SMEC. This information is combined with data supplied by other sensors to determine correct air/fuel ratio.
