Switch Test Mode
- The switch test mode is used to determine if specific switch inputs are being received by the SMEC.
- To enter this mode, first ensure all switches that send an input signal to SMEC are turned off. Put system into Diagnostic Mode and wait for code 55 to appear and the "CHECK ENGINE" light to stop blinking.
- Turn on switches to send input to SMEC. If the SMEC is receiving the switch input, the diagnostic read, out box display will change or the "CHECK ENGINE" light will turn on as the switch is turned on. The display will change again or the light will turn off when the switch is turned to the "OFF" position. The following switches output signals to the SMEC:
- Brake switch.
- Gearshift position (Park, Reverse).
- A/C switch (if equipped). This is valid only when damped pressure switch is closed and blower switch is in "ON" position.
