Warm DRIVEABILITY Test 7 - Air Switching System Check
- Disconnect downstream air hose from the air switching valve. Start engine and wait 4 minutes. There should be air coming out of the air switching valve downstream air port. If there is air flowing from port, proceed to WARM DRIVEABILITY TEST 8 .
- If there is no air flowing from the port, disconnect upstream air hose from the air switching valve. There should be air flowing from the air switching valve upstream port. If there is no air flowing from the port, repair or replace the air pump.
- If there is air flowing from the port, disconnect the vacuum hose from the air switching valve and connect a vacuum gauge to the hose. Vacuum reading should be zero in. Hg. If vacuum reading is as specified, replace the air switching valve. If there is vacuum, connect a voltmeter to the air switching solenoid (Green wire) and ground.
- Voltage reading should be within one volt of battery voltage. If voltage reading is okay, replace the vacuum solenoid assembly. If there is 0-1 volt, turn the ignition off. Disconnect the computer 12-way connector. Connect voltmeter to connector cavity "12" and ground. Turn the ignition switch to the "RUN" position.
- Voltage reading should be within one volt of battery voltage. If voltage is okay, replace the computer. If there is still 0-1 volt, repair the Green wire for a short to ground.
