Check Engine Light

The check engine light illuminates each time the ignition is turned on, and stays on for 3 seconds as a bulb test. If SMEC receives an incorrect signal or no signal from certain sensors, the check engine light will be illumniated. This an indication that SMEC has entered into a limp-in mode. This limp-in mode is an attempt to keep the system operating despite system fault.
